Takeover news: https://www.ch-aviation....ss-to-start-by-end-2019
Kenya Airports Authority without JKIA is a loss making entity. The losses in KQ will overweigh the holding company. Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation Wealth=Income + Investments - Lifestyle
Takeover news: https://www.ch-aviation....ss-to-start-by-end-2019
Most important news; Meanwhile, the regional LCC Jambojet has received approval from the Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority to launch a route to Kigali from its Nairobi hub, the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation reported. Vincent Rague, the regional LCC's chairman, made the announcement as its sixth aircraft was unveiled, a new Dash 8-400, reportedly the first of four that are expected this year. The airline currently flies to five destinations in Kenya - Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Malindi, Ukunda - and one regional destination, Entebbe/Kampala, Uganda, according to the ch-aviation capacities module. It also flies to Bujumbura in Burundi on behalf of Kenya Airways. If JJ is handled well it is going places... They are pulling some very good numbers if they check on costs it will be profits all the way... possunt quia posse videntur

In fact with open skies it is best positioned to become Africa's Easyjet/Ryanair. @Maka what are they doing differently compared to KQ on the cost side?

For starters I think they did a proper job evaluation so they have a reasonable pay structure unlike KQ... They pay way less for most of their services because of the type of planes... They are now about to fly to Kigali, you will get them being charged like USD150 for handling... the plane will be full 78/82 pax ...KQ takes its Embraerhuko gets hit like USD 290 and yes the plane isnt full sand obviously more expensive to maintain... I believe have mastered the art of getting good rates from their sevice providers by the way I think they have like 230 staff... They are expecting (from the article) 3 more planes they can now slowly focus regionally... Hope they just focus.Measured growth... possunt quia posse videntur

JJ is doing what KQ should have done. Grow slowly. Project Mawingu was about egos and kickbacks. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Cut KQ some slack, worse could happen FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27 2019 Last week, Qatar Airways announced a loss of $639 million. This was significantly higher than its loss of $69 million last year. Comparatively, KQ posted losses of $75 million for 2018, compared with $64 million in 2017. https://www.nation.co.ke...290422-ej0f98/index.htmlpossunt quia posse videntur

Huge numbers of forced cancellations when GCC suspended/cancelled flights to/from Qatar. And the Qatar - as a very wealthy country - can afford losses we cannot even imagine. GDP is 2x Kenya. GDP per capita is 40x Kenya It had a surplus in 2018. Kenya had a deficit. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

βA key economic flow that is stimulated by good air transport connections is foreign direct investment, creating productive assets that will generate a long-term flow of GDP,β IATA says. https://www.theeastafric...-asAMP-hfwuad/index.html
