VDIP (Value destruction in progress) - From 14 bob and soon at 10 in less than 12 months! It's a pity the Honorable Justice could not do justice to the VDIP scheme!

KQ passenger numbers Oct-Dec 2012 not so rosy.

-> The company put into the market capacity totalling 3,613m seat kilometres which was 1.1% above prior year’s level. Slow growth but still excessive when considered vs 'sales'.
- > Traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres at 2,519m was 1.7% below similar period last year.
Very Important figure & declining
-> The total passenger tally, which closed at 991,149, indicates a growth of 3.6% compared to similar period last year.
-> The resultant cabin factor at 69.7% was lower than prior year’s 71.7%. Ouch! This hurts as it means fewer seats are filled. fixed costs do not change.
-> Cargo capacity dropped 10.7% with a proportionate decline in tonnage during the period. Ouch! Cargo adds variable revenue at fixed costs. The good news seems an increase in Far East cargo but a drop in UK/Europe cargo

KQ shall definately be making a loss end of year, after a 4.7Bil loss on H1 i dont see how it shall recover making marginal growth in Q3 and possibly Q4.as i said earlier am waiting for it at 5 bob as it was in 1994-1995 when i started this game.

Just like KK, KQ is also a potential candidate for a large price move in coming weeks as per tech readings all of which are in the bearish corner. Downside target 8/-. Currently the price (10.85) is in 2004 territory - such a rollercoaster ride!

Boeing 787 to be grounded for months as investigations continue - http://www.bloomberg.com...olonging-grounding.html

Yep, one long wait for the patient airlines with 787 orders. Waiting to see some cancel the orders and go airbus!

Eurozone crisis hits visitor arrivals at airports - http://www.businessdaily...6/-/l3wgp7/-/index.html

Both JKIA & Moi airports record passenger arrivals drop. Not good seeing African passenger numbers dip.

All that remains now is trying to figure out how huge the KQ loss will be and the way forward to recovery. One fierce AGM coming up...

Not at all. Most KQ shareholders want lunch packs, some freebies & little more. That's why they go for AGMs, not ask probing questions.

http://www.rich.co.ke/media/docs/037NSX2101.pdf[/quote] Does he have shares in KQ or is it a PR push?
