Funny how PK and Martha got paltry votes in their respective constituencies, yet UK got over 100K votes in the two constituencies combined.
I think had they gone for governor or senator seats in the respective counties - they would have won comfortably, the party notwithstanding.
What exactly goes on in the mind of a politician? if PK had gone for Nairobi governor he would have easilly won (didn't he say he was born and brought up in baha).
With his development credentials iam sure he would have been an inch closer to presidency.
was it really that hard to figure out?

Perhaps you meant 138(3)(c)....
"
after counting the votes in the polling stations, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission shall tally and verify the count and declare the result.
"

But @mukiha on the numbers I think the easier way to explain it is that the winner should have more votes that the sum of all other candidates' votes plus rejected ones.

Article 2 (c)and (d) is about the Supremacy of the constitution over conflicting legislation
Article 138 is about electoral process
