I agree with him on USA airlines coz way too much competition... I think KQ has a unique (for now) position in Africa. Remember there are successful airlines who carve a niche. Southwest (USA), RyanAir (Ireland/UK), Emirates...
1) Private (except for GoK's 23% but countered by KLM's 26%) so less interference in operations unlike most African airlines.
2) Less competition in sub-Saharan Africa except for Ethiopian & SAA. Both competitors are decent but government owned. Hopefully, their governments will interfere...
3) KQ's hub (NBO) is pretty decent for expansion into Africa. China/India will be huge players in the next decade & if NBO keeps up...
If GoK does not step up to the plate (JKIA, MIA, Kisumu) then I will have to re-think my position. I do not know why KQ has dithered on a 2nd hub in West Africa...
