And just the other day they got some cash for equity.

It's a red herring. Sowing fear to displace the faint hearted. What is 280M if 3B can be restructured. FY profit loading...

Hehehehe.....tell them. Transcentury wazees are no jokes.

People ignore red signals at their own peril.
I bought and sold Cables for a small profit during the good old Kibaki days. Cables was going for around Sh 30. Look at the share now languishing at Shs 2.30
Kibati ran it then. It did well at the time given the Kibaki administration and TCL wazee were friends.

Their main problem was that they lost KPLC and Kengen cable tenders to bidders who were underbidding and importing without paying the relevant duties. We know which arm of govt. these 2 firms sat under. No amount of good management or financial wizardry can overcome unfair competition on such a large scale.

They had been given exclusive monopoly to supply cables to Kenya power.
When this ended fortunes turned

They never had an exclusive monopoly. They were the lowest priced, high quality cable provider, post tax and production. You can't compete locally against a person importing from China and evading taxes and duties.
Any "monopoly" they had emanated from having established a factory in the country and creating employment.
