What is PIC's target here? Can the Kenyan Government ced a significant stake to PIC? The entry of PIC changes alot of things!

PIC is managed and controlled by the South African Government.
PIC target is to meet the south Africans target of of having significant stake and say in Sub-saharan countries economies

They need to buy up to 45%...replace some GoK Directors in the KenGen board... New ideas... Possibly connect to the Southern Africa Power Pool via Tanzania

Kengen's work is to generate not transmit;
Board of Directors in most parastatals have very little say in the strategy of the company.They are normally used to reward cronies and give soft landings to others.

Energy Bill 2015 – creating market for power generators (currently in Senate) will allow KenGen to bypass Kenya Power and sell power directly to industial customers (Olkaria Industiral Park).

Once KETRACO's East Africa Power pool tranmission to Tanzania is complete and with Energy Bill 2015 passed KenGen can possibly sell power sale deal with a different country and sign transmission deal with KETRACO.

@Ericson if their investment in Steinhoff is being impaired, shouldn't they sell Steinhoff to stem the bleeding and invest the money in Kengen? I don't see why they should sell Kengen to stem the bleeding in Steinhoff.
