No... the policies may be friendly but the small tent, xenophobic, nationalist thinking that made this possible will not play nice with the commonwealth. The nasty is out and it knows it has company. They will grow braver and chauvinistic. No one wins on this.

You know the frame of mind that voted to exit Europe is not the same frame of mind that created the commonwealth. It was a liberal mindset that conceived and created the commonwealth. The mindset that has voted "leave" is an isolationist mindset and thus automatically assuming that since Europe is gone we will have the commonwealth picking up the pieces is misguided.

This was carried in the Onion the other day. It is sad to see farce turn into tragedy right in front of our, largely helpless, eyes.

Got a briefing this morning from one of the cabinet member. Here is the highlights:

1. No one knows the extend of the implication
2. The vote is not binding and it's up to the parliament to proceed with legislation that will result in pullout by principle and by law
3. If the parliament do not do anything in 3 year, UK will automatically exit in principle but the laws will not change meaning that the laws that were in place before the exit will remain in place.

The briefing was meant to reassure the markets( before north American markets open)

Effects of taking politicians too seriously



Some Leave voters said they felt lied to, as one Twitter user wrote: "I personally voted Leave believing these lies and I regret it more than anything, I feel genuinely robbed of my vote."
