The only reason why someone would insist on occupying such dockets is to plunder and reward his cronies. But I always thought I believe had the strength of character to 'convert' kutender. We were mistaken. That's why baks disowned the Mou immediately he got into statehouse. Will someone admit that the urgency of 'solving' the ICC problem and 'dissolving' PEV was one of the major factors behind the last 'screw up'? And that even now it's the main dish? The ICC thorn made the duo birds of the same feathers and thus had to flow together! Were it not of the ICC I doubt the two would be together. Team selfie then discovered that to beat Hague they needed a lot of influence in people, institutions and other nations thus they MUST be in power to achieve it. This involves BILLIONS which kamwana had and secured his freedom. As kutender discovered money could buy anything including freedom and he's not yet Uhuru, he needs the billions as the future isn't certain. I pray they dismiss the case soonest. That bond of ICC will disappear and things will fall apart as the center won't hold. The way things stand now, we don’t need ICC bond to break so as to send these packing. The moment you as an African Leader surrender to International Mother and Father, your goose is cooked. You might ask why then Mo1 survived two elections with the IMF guillotine on his neck – That is a different era, - he managed to kill, maim, confuse and divide the opposition using state machinery, and used proverbial carrot and stick to keep his support base in the rift and lower eastern intact. These are things that you cannot do today. Couple that with the fact that I believe’s support base will not be and has never been motivated by the same things that motivated mo1 base decades ago. If this mess is not corrected, and people are not too foolish to know if the tide has turned or not - the kind of voter apathy you will see in 2017 will be to a degree never seen in recent times. There’s no guarantee that the alternative or the one who comes to power will be better. But we would rather deal with an angel we don’t know rather than an angel who already turned devil.

The other day I was watching some videos and I was looking at the transitions of the maumau. In the beginning it's okay to carry guns and fight. They fight and die and kill. Then the next day, Mzee tells them to disarm, it's a new Kenya.
But some aren't satisfied with the outcome of the struggle; they go back to the bush ...
And it hit me, those who went back to the bush hadn't realized that the needed weapons had changed. Through the cold war, warfare and political discourse was changing, now war is waged via economic and financial systems. Markets. The freedom fighter is the industry champion, the technologist. And it's these very people that are scarce in our country.
We have too many politicians, we don't need more. We have too many policies, we don't need more. What we need are warriors who can have a say in the global market, people who can influence culture. And these people don't need votes, don't need government positions. These people need self sacrifice, intelligence and hard work. They need commitment to an ethos that's greater than themselves.
For me, talk of voting or not voting, is escapism, and sloth. Talk about politicians is a pastime like completing the crosswords in the dailies.

@Alai, Quote:Uhuru should stop the plunder of the country. Corruption is not only happening at the national government level but also at the county government levels. I am told of a lady who was working at IBM as a developer. The young lady then bid for a job at a county. She ordinarily charges Ksh 500,000 for such jobs but quoted Ksh 1.5million because of the logistics. On presenting the idea to the governor, the county leader demanded that she charge Ksh 250 million of which Ksh 200 million will be for the Governor. This is just for one stupid app. The young lady in her mid 20s now drives a sleek Mercedes S class. You can't explain how she acquired it, neither can she. The same happened in a county in Western part of the country. We only talked of the Ksh 109,000 wheelbarrows but other major transactions happened. There was a revenue system tender where a company called Tritek associated with an Auditor General Office employee was awarded at a fee of Ksh 138 Million. Out of the paid amount, I am told that the governor was paid Ksh 30m, his Chief of Staff Ksh 10m, Ministry of Finance point-man Ksh 10m. Tritek was paid just Ksh 25m from the Ksh 138m quoted. Outright manipulation of figures for theft. Director of communication in the same county had the company of her friend awarded Ksh 16m tender to implement an SMS system which has never been implemented. I have the documents showing that the g-united internship program launched by the government has inflated figure showing that more than Ksh 280million was paid for the 6 months internship program which actually cost only Ksh 22 million. The number of volunteers was multiplied by some mysterious 8 counties and budgeted at Ksh 5 billion per year for 5 years. The 4th year is 2017 (election year) meaning that they targeted to use the 2017 heightened political climate to mask the theft. Ksh 1 billion is being spent per year while in real sense, it doesn't even cost Ksh 30 million annually. The same or worse is happening in each and every one of the 47 counties. Everyone is making noise about the allocation from the national government but nobody is going through the county revenue collection with a tooth-comb. Can President Uhuru help us unravel how Maina Kamanda acquired the Fire station facility in Buru Buru and built flats on it and now even rents one to Kenya Commercial Bank. How did he acquire it? How did HornBill pub acquire the facility it has in Buru Buru? But I seriously think that the Auditor General's office has been compromised and tamed. At the end of the first term of devolved governments, we will have more than 100 billionaires who can't explain how they acquired the wealth they flaunt around. Uhuru, we elected one President. We have county government but the buck stops with a single person called the President. We must have people pay for their mistakes. You must move with speed and arrest the runway corruption in the country. @Leona? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.
