The caption below the pic says

"Armed police leave after entering the Westgate Mall in Nairob"

It appears like that sanduku is being fiercely guarded ?

Ama ni crucial evidence ?

I might be wrong but i think that's for communication usually carried around during combat.

Communication must be a hallowed thing with these guys then.

Look at the formation around the guy with the box? Seems like they want to block that box from view...
The box carrier amevuta kofia chini with sleeves rolled and not in a helmet ..hmmm

Yes!!

In world war II.

Most of their equipments are old school anyway including our fighter jets

HHHmmmmm ,,,,,,

Anyway, the 'old school' communication box obviously looks to have been built to withstand the vagaries of battlefield conditions. Housing the hallowed communication stuff, as Mtu Biz notes, surely requires such finely built boxes.

lol.

Where is my tormentor Thimioni...

KDF screwed up the thing (That is why UMK went to Ruiru to apologise) and they are now busy opening shops and taking leave to go spend the loot.

Well he also did the same to KDF, anyway i think the whole operation was bungled. As someone pointed out if RECCE were in control were couldn't they finish the job (KDF arrived several hours later). What led to the decision to deploy KDF? What was the role of the Israeli forces? Btw IMO i strongly believe kuna one or two gunmen who were captured alive.

They couldn't finish the job because as they asked for permission to move in and wipe out the terrorists (as you can see from the NTV footage, the four remaining terrorists were preparing for a final battle of death). things outside started getting mixed up, with KDF ego getting the best of them. Kimemia and Co. Vs Lenku and co. IG vs CoG.
The recce squad in retaliation to their commander being shot. took out 2 KDF soldiers and left.

Yaani unasema they did that intentionally?

KDF wanted to loot and they killed the recce squad guy as he was a stumbling block.

The gun shots that were being heard on the Wednesday after Uhuru's speech were KDF soldiers shooting at cash boxes.
That is what you get when you fill the military with family, friends and fellows who bribed to get in. Unprofessionalism

@Poundfoolish, I remember we were with you in one corner over this argument......slowly we are being vindicated!!!

Comms are usually carried in a backpack so the soldier can keep his hand free.

That sanduku was carrying Mawinder's rados.

Someone mentioned in another thread that the box is a portable communication jamming equipment. From what I gathered, the equipment is used during such operations to jam GSM signals.
