Who is PK? What has he done for this country? Will I vote for someone based on his lofty ideas of what he can do for us that others have not done before? Will I vote for him because he is young? Or is it because he happens to be the new kid on the block? I ask again, what has he done for this country? Forget Gatanga. Gatanga constituency is not Kenya. For the time he has been in parliament, what has been his track record in speaking up against impunity and corruption. How much has he spoken up for the rule of law to be upheld. I have not heard him... at least not as clearly as I have heard some of the other presidential aspirants. In my opinion, the crime of omission is as bad as that of commission. Just lying low as bad things happen around you and not coming out strongly against them is as bad as joining the criminals. That for me is a strong indication of a spineless leader who will wax this and that way bouyed on the sands of time!

Standing up and demanding Mpigs pay taxes doesn't count as a national issue? why trust some one who cannot manage a CDF for heavens sake this is our tax money. We are setting a very low bar to our leaders.

@kamundu, I don't know about Obama politics and I frankly don't care.

@wazuaguest, It is good you have mentioned one issue that PK was vocal in. Please mention the others. What was his stand on the recent and past salary increases for MP's? Was he a hague proponent or a local tribunal guy? What has been his public stand on the judiciary and implementation of the new constitution? What is his stand on the ICC suspects? Mau forest? IDP's and their resettlement? Has he suggested publicly how IDP's should be resettled? I cannot vote for a leader who stands at a distance and only wades into controversy when it is safe to do so and public opinion is highly in his favour (read MPs paying taxes issue). I need a leader who is giving the right direction to the controversy right from the begining before most Kenyans even catch on to what the controversy is all about.
I would also be interested in knowing what is his rags to riches story.

@Elder in the past Kenyans have voted for their leaders with their tribe, their fear, their stomachs & their emotions!

But never before in Kenyas election history have Kenyans used their brain to vote! (there was a small attempt in 2002)

There are many other parts of the body we can vote with.. For example all those who are planning to tick Uhuru-ruto on the ballot paper have added a new category.. "VOTING WITH YOUR ASS"!!

This is adding insult to injury. And also, it is under estimating the power of tribalism.

And why are you denigrating feelings?

It seems this PK club has nothing to do with humanity after all!

Watch out! The suspects and pseudo reformers have more appeal to Wanjiku's feelings and they may triumph on that account.

Or you don't care?

And if it's simply a matter of using 'brains' why aren't we also talking about Martha Karua?

I suspect she is even a better politician compared to any other contestant!

Actually personally, I'm sad that such people IN FACT APPEAL to wanjiku. You still don't seem to understand that those characters don't appeal, but it's the game of tribal politics at play. I talk to many pple in shags, a vast majority like PK, but they believe UK will beat raira at the polls oh our interests etc. Nothing like ati they APPEAL TO WANJIKU. Actually, most of such kind of talk I hear it among the middo class. Wanjiku appears to know she is headed to a wilderness, but has no other choice apparently. Many will tell you, UK will/may not build this n that road, but will protect them from raira. What kind of a f***ed up society is this? And tycho is all over praising it?

@Simonkabz, I don't think I can praise tribalism or the 'suspects'.

In fact, if you look at my post you'll realize that I am trying to ask camp PK to also appeal to Wanjiku's positive emotions.

The expression 'tumia akili' seems to be disregarding people's feelings and 'capacities'.
