what do you petrol heads think of the galant fortis?
though the duty for that car is ridiculously high, due to high crsp.

In my opinion, it depends about this car. It's sportish as you said. That means re-sale value might be a problem. Client base is narrower.
And about status, I think it might suit youngsters more.

Ive done some background research on the 2006 sylphy. Its great value for money.
engine. 2.0l (there's a 1.5l-but higher CIF???)
bhp- 130-140.
Has a detuned x-trail engine. x-trail bhp is ~147-150.
km/l- 13.7. very good considering engine capacity.
good looks and very spacious interior.
16" tires(size does matter)
good set of accesories
price after importing. 650-720k.

so its effectively 300k less than the NZE, I think its good value for money

@Aguytrying,

Does the Sylphy have a "hump" at the rear seat leg area as for the FB15?

@Chaka Yes It has a hump/tunnel in the rear seat. The car is very spacious and the hump doesn't inconvienience much.

Regarding stability beyond 100Kph, mine was smooth hence a different experience than @mawinder.. The car drove smoothly beyond 130kph from Mbsa a couple of days back....

@Ngong/@Mjasirii in my opinion, Freelander does not impress me.
- I looks delicate compared to other SUV
- I think it is more expensive to maintain, you have to go to General Motors
- I think it has lower resale value, can you imagine how long it will take you to sell!
- I think it suits ladies more than men
- I think it looks ugly when it ages
- I think it does not have lot of status

2002 VW Golf estate 1.6L at Sh 530k or a 2004 NZE at Sh 700k?

I go for 2nd and 4th above.
