This kikuyu-bashing worked against RAO in 2007 and resulted in a near-genocide. The kikuyus went on the DEFENSIVE, fighting for their very survival as a community, both at the ballot and physically. I think only a kikuyu can explain the feeling of being unwanted in own country, being killed, displaced, despised and eventually being hauled to the Hague 'for causing trouble!!' It gets to a point where a people hate their own country coz of halfbrained newts like Omar. Please note, I havent defended baks, bt I would defend my own ethnicity, my tradition, my heritage and will rebuke anybody who tries to isolate any community based on ethnic apathy or indifference with its leaders.

@hunderwear please do not allow yourself into that trap. Anti-kikuyu sentiments in this country have always been close to the ground and any politician or populist will be trying to play them to achieve their selfish objectives. We saw it happen in the run-up to the last polls with a disastrous outcome.

I know hassan closely back from our college days at moi in the late 90s and he can be described as many things but he is not a tribalist. Trust me am also trying to make sense of his bold and brutal comments in that article. As a kikuyu they leave me with a bitter taste in my mouth but I refuse to fall in to their trap by reacting in the way they expect.

Remember prior to 2002 when majimbo talk used to be used to silence kikuyus politically and then mwangi kiunjuri led a group of kikuyu mps in declaring that they actually support a majimbo system. The majimbo talk ended right there. Its called reverse psychology.

Kibaki has given the kikuyu bashers plenty of ammunition. The big question is; will kikuyus take a defensive and isolationist stance again? Will the community box itself into a corner once again?

Greek philosopher george santayana once said; " those who do not remember their history are condemned to repeat it".

Would that suggest you leak anyones boot?

smile Simmer down @Simonkabz, i feel your pain and concern. But what i have observed about these group of kikuyu haters like Omar, is that they truly and dearly love to land on the mount kenya airports! One time they are bashing the brothers so hard but in the evening they will be laying with the sister! I find this quite bafflingSad In fact, if any of them (kikuyu haters) is not married to a kikuyu their side dish is one, and you can tell that it is such a feat and great accomplishment to do that. Therefore, their grouse is not kikuyus perse and should never be, but the system that has skewed resources leaving many (who include kikuyus) disgruntled. Omar should know better and not whip up emotions of Kenyans like they did in 2007/08, we are not going there again!

Hassan Omar and his ilks should be by now realized that no amount of intimidation and cursing towards Agikuyus will stop their economic and know how advancement.

Instead of portraying his ethnic background inferiority, maybe its high time he try to learn from them on how to economically uplift his people from the perpetual poverty and low academic achievement.

Some of us are proud Kikuyus without any apology to make to these damnwits!
