@mukiri, check here for container housing in kenya info. Its more expensive than the regular low cost bungalow cost of kes 20k per m2.

dear all what is the average ratio of labour cost and the total cost of building the building. can the cost of labour be more than the cost of materials at any one time?

Cost of labour as % of total project depends on particular task. Masonry works tend to be around 25% whereas some tasks like electrical, plumbing & fittings may go as high as 50%.

@a4architect - what are the minimum room sizes (e.g. living room, bedroom, kitchen, WC, corridors etc) allowable by law for buildings in Nairobi? Even minimum house size? Is there a building code that one can refer to? Like this one i found for Australia RINK?
