Some guy fainted yesterday when he rushed to donate blood and his became another emergency.
one must have a lot to donate.
Well we hope that all goes well with the rescue.

Many people faint when donating blood. It has nothing to do with blood volumes. It is an autonomic response to fear and anxiety.

It is completely harmless to give blood, though more than 50% of donated blood cannot be used (HIV, malaria, hepatitis B, etc).

Our hospitals are excellent with these sort of emergencies. Our fellow Kenyans are in good hands.

:) true,The sight of blood, lots of blood is enough to induce such a reaction.
How about weight vs blood? does it mean those under 50 have less to give or what?

So those blood donation campaigns carried out in high school are illegal?? then the first time i donated blood i was below 50kgs, that am sure..

Just from the scene. Donated some water to keep our soldiers going. There is a group of Peponi neighbours serving breakfast to soldiers and journalists. Some good stuff amidst all the tragedy.

If his relatives have been affected then he must be very distressed

My heart goes out to the traumatised kids who were caught in the battle line!
the little white kid- apprx 4 yr old, that I saw running, the two standing next to a dead body on the steps looked shocked, arrgh those images of blood dead, is terrifying.

Apparently there was intel this morning 1030HRS thereabout to avoid/leave Westlands due to an impending attack. Being in Westlands today felt like being in Falluja Iraq. Armoured vehicles, gunfire, choppers overhead, super dead nightlife, packed hospitals. It shall never be the same.

Kinda reminds me of Kabul September 13th 2011...

Imagine being in the middle of that kind of fire and suicide bombers!! the house we were living in was less than 100 meters from where this action was taking place!! it lasted karibu 2 whole days.

Damn! Stark reminder we are at war with unseen enemies. The lessons to be learnt from this are many!
