New kid in the block 787 dreamliner landing soon, looks like the 777-300, interior. But I wish they'd cut the number and acquire 777-X too "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

Seems like u know about the B777X. The middle-eastern carriers have made a swoop on them. However, it's still a concept and they should be ready for commercial production in a few years. The b777x will carry the same number of pax as the B773 but 16% more fuel efficient than it's predecessor. The B787 is for different missions vs the B77X. Hopefully we will get a few in a few years to replace the B772s. @alibaba he is talking of the new airplanes Boeing launched very recently. Coded as B777X

Coded as B777X Yea Qatar has ordered 50 while Emirates ordered 150. I consider the two the "real" competitors of African airlines. Hopefully KQ will place their order once they start receiving the 787s esp given that they will be in production for a while "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The 777-X will take some time before deliveries start. See the delays in the 787 delivery schedule. It's better to have a 777-300 today then not have any planes tomorrow! KQ is using tired 767s while waiting for the 787s... And this has hurt them. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

The A380 can't come to nbo due to infrastructure. They need a double air bridge and also pavement weight issues. Then again, it's pointless to "upgrade" facilities to accommodate the A380 as it's only Emirates that would bring in this "airline unpopular airplane" whose only lifeline seems to be the orders placed by emirates.
FYI we are getting 6 B787s, 2 B773s and 2 B738s. We also see off 2 ERJs. Personally, I reckon it's a huge step in the right direction. Now you will see proper synergies with the e-jets comprehensively covering East Africa while the B737 cover the rest of Africa. One thing to note, KQ upgraded Accra services to the B767 from the smaller B738 recently and it's a hit!
The routes are generally doing quite well from the ones I have seen.
FOR ALL THE KENYAN INVESTORS:With all these new acquisitions, I encourage Kenyans to patronize our HOME GROWN BRAND! Why go to other carriers and that money paid doesn't come back to the economy? PROUDLY KENYAN!
