That is part of our money as the county gets money from the central government which in turn gets the money from Kikuyu,Kalenjin,Asian,Somali and other communities taxes.

Where are otoyos in that list of yours bw.Mawinder, we are being marginalised!

Where will these Ambulances be rushing people to? which hospitals? Using which roads?

and i can't help noticing how fuel and such are already budgeted for. down to the day's expenses. Ile siku gari haitatoka.. fuel itapelekwa? Dont answer me!

Did you read the whole speech...
Because you cannot have an ambulance taking a patient to a clinic which is not able to cater to the patient's needs, we have started construction of 40 community hospitals by upgrading existing health centers and building new hospitals where there are no existing services. We are spending 500 million Kshs for this venture and each of the community hospitals - one per ward - will have a maternity, ward, mini-theatre, lab and x-ray facilities. These hospitals will be fully constructed by end of June, this year, and fully equipped and functioning by end of August, this year. Equipping them to international standards will cost an additional Kshs. 150 million.

We have also budgeted and set systems for the proper functioning of our health centers. All our hospitals and clinics have adequate medicines and consumables such as gloves and needles.

In Machakos County we have ensured that no patient ever shares a bed with another patient or sleeps on the floor.

Then come June 2014 I will be a Mutua fanatic.
Though i would have expected the facilities to be ready for the vehicles instead of the other way round. All in all.. June is here. I shall get converted when he starts showing us photos of hospitals, roads and water systems.. not cars and more cars and amusement parks

So in planning which comes before the other, ambulances or reasonable health facilities. Is ok Police Mahindras we saw and where are they. Shaina will kill Kenya's economy!

this is how i think.... its better an expensive thing than nothing at all!!
I envy the people of Machakos - they are getting something. All these other 'ngafanas' wamefanya nini? well accounted 'fact finding' trips to the US for themselves and MCAs? Prados and better housing for the Ngafanas? just because its well accounted for does not mean its useful or the best use of our funds. Watu wamachakos wako juu.

Interesting extrapolation but only further demonstrates the irony. Folks passionately bashing Mutua about their taxes but somehow oblivious of the tragicomedy taking place in their own counties based on the very same taxes.

I concur. It's just one year in and devolution is exposing performers and non-performers regardless of tribe. This guy keeps this up for 10yrs and he may be a serious urban candidate for a higher position... Or county voters agree of a rotation system for him smile

in machakos dams and other water harvesting methods are more needed..i wont wind a dam and borehole in every village.

with water we farm ,get nourished and take mwarubaini when sickness comes knocking.

the more than 50ambulances is i saw on mombasa highway on friday night is a great waste.
get your priorities right.

Some people have this mentality that Mutua does not have an idea of what is important for Machakos People. @Poundfoolish, why assume that the only thing Mutua has done or planned for is only the things he has spoken about. Watch citizen at 9.pm as he repeats what he has already said...that is Road works is in progress in all the wards, Hospitals already have equipments there are bigger plans for them. @newfarer, Mutua is aware of that and he repeated this during his debates before he was elected and I am sure he is doing it and he will even do it in a smarter way than you imagine. You can take your time and visit the policy sections of the Machakos Government websitehttp://www.machakosgovernment.com and check the manifesto here http://www.machakosgover...s/MACHAKOSMANIFESTO.pdf

I guess the reason you would see the ambulances as a waste is because Mutua values human life much more than you do and He cannot anyone died in situations which can be avoided.

It is an ambulance for each location
