Ethiopian Airlines will
become the first African
carrier to use Boeing 787
Dreamliner set to be
delivered next week.
The aeroplane gives the
airline a competitive edge over its African peers like Kenya Airways (KQ) in attracting passengers seeking
new experiences while saving on fuel costs.
KQ, Ethiopian Airlines’ main competitor in Africa together with South African Airways, expects its first Dreamliner in
October next year.

A Kenyan court has temporarily stopped national carrier Kenya Airways from retrenching its employees until a suit brought by the workers union challenging the layoffs is heard and determined.

The additional shares + potential losses from hedges + losses from the retrenchment = low EPS & much higher PER.
