@guru, hope you didnt get in 'big time'@56/. I had placd an order for 3k shares @52.5 this morning then after watching the trading for some time, i developed cold feet and canceled it. I'm waiting for good entry point next week, if possible lower than 50/. This is on bus i'm ready to miss unless it goes below 50/

Timing the market can be a tricky affair, the supply deluge in the morning has given way to rising demand and price. The close today may as well be the bottom of the pull back on KQs share price.

True cnn, again dont forget this is an African Stock Market ( a stock market in the dark continent!) where anything goes. Timing this market is akin to stating that Kenya is a well run economy, but the matatu madness, bribing police, flying toilets e.t.c are all factored into NSE making it all the more unpredictable. Anything could be happening with for example with KQ stock, some greedy fellas may be playing the market. When you invest in NSE the most important question is not P.E, EPS, blah blah blah! but whether you have hope for Kenya and what companies represent that hope then you can go to the fundamentals from there.

@jaguar i cancelled that order after finding out from my broker the supply demand dynamics before the market opened... now i've made an order for 5.5k shares 2.5k shares at 52bob and 3k shares at 49bob..

i'm very sure there are still a number of investors who bought at 33-45bob who are panic selling.. i just hope they are strong enuf to drive it down further...

i dont think you will miss the bus

@guru - Didnt we miss the bus on some other stuff????

I have KQ but I am also looking at others... At below 50/- I am going to buy more...

Of course, what do I sell???

IMHO... I could go into a cave & come out in 2015 & I believe I will have a great return coz of the buys I have made...

@guru and vvs,i have a feeling 50 is in the past.At around 60 yesterday sellers were plenty, that supply reduced today and 53/54 price level is the lowest i expect on monday.Remember when the price was stuck at 47-50 for some time the sellers were also few,and they might have realised the value in the company and hold out for higher price.

@VVS i dont think I have missed any bus because the stocks i chose last year for my portfolio just after the market turned (KPLC, KQ, Safcom, mumias, kenya re and Sameer) are all up a great deal....

but if one is looking 2015 and beyond just like I am, this market is still one of the cheapest in the world even after the recent bull run. just because many of the listed companies including KQ have geared themselves extremely well for exponential growth in revenues...

so for long term investors the bus is still waitng at the stage!! but not for much longer...

my only speculative buys for 2010 are kenya re and safcom.
