Uhuru should now head to London and have tea with the Queen and Cameron as they discuss new trade deals for Kenya. The EU trade policies have really been hurting Kenya's export. At least we now have gotten a window of opportunity to negotiate a fair trade deal directly with Britain, which is a very important market for us. http://www.theguardian.c...flower-trade-eu-pressure

Switzerland, Iceland and Norway are not part of EU. They are not exactly poor.

Am impressed by the depth of the discussion on this thread. @hardwood and @masukuma To be honest, am one of those guys who ignore things like whether trump becomes US president or not. Brexit is not top priority to me either. But there is a group of wazees I hang out with on weekends and they think am the smartest guy they've ever known. So they will be asking my opinion, and that story on the cut flower industry is what I will be talking about. There is another thread by the nerds from the blue section and IMHO, theirs is too shallow. Just copy pasting stock and currency charts.

Very interesting voting pattern. England votes out while London, Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to remain.

According to history the English came about as a result of the amalgamation of the Anglo-saxons who IMMIGRATED to the place now called England, and before them the physical location now called England was inhabited by the Romans and before them ....etc it goes way back. So, no one really can claim to be the original inhabitant of "england" to be english enough. “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. Interesting observation stolen from elsewhere: Quote:Before the EU Eastern block joined the EU in 2004, black immigrants in Britain enjoyed a pool of job vacancies and the problem was not where to get the job, it was how to refuse the job. In all streets, job vacancies were placed anywhere in pavements and sometimes even almost blocking roads. Those working with agencies had a rough time refusing to pick up calls for job offers and even de-registering. After 2004, Polish and other Easterners took over Britain and this was a huge disadvantage for the black population as the employers would prefer a white skin as opposed to a black skin. Today, blacks find it hard to get even odd jobs, explaining why many with masters and Phds do odd jobs like toilet cleaning and caring for the elderly in nursing homes. Brexit is a huge boost for the black community in Britain. Its a windfall to be celebrated.
