@Jaggernaut- your posts on this topic are well thought out.
Indeed anyone in leadership has advisors and their work is to advise. We must appreciate the process of transforming Judiciary is and remains herculean task. There were bound to be many forces both within and without to frustrate such transformation. As noted earlier, the support functions should not cloud out the functions.

I find the CJ sombre and committed to the transformation agenda.

What is the hullabaloo about? These emails were all over The Standard Online in the last 2 weeks. The emails were leaked by the former chief registrar who happens to be married to the CEO of the Standard Group (hence the reason why the other newspapers did not get the scoop). This is normal office politics.

So Ahmednasir was right when he said that 'a man and his wife hacked the CJ's email account'. That is criminal.

kwani 'hacking' is a pedestrian thing? that the likes of Dennis itumbi, Sholei and the husband engage in?

Yeah, the emails paint a picture of everyone working in consultation with each other before taking action while GBS works alone. This cannot possibly be good for her.
I still maintain that Justice Willy could have acted a bit faster and contained these issues. He also trusted her too much, to the chagrin of most technical people at the judiciary.
I agree with @jag, Ahmednassir is vindicated a lot.

this is one side of the story... one side of the elephant if you may. If someone dumped GBS' emails we would know her advisors.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly , hacked his laptop with machetes until it yielded the emails.

I can imagine the hubby as the man in the middle hapo kwa parking intercepting the letters while the wife with access to the inner rooms collects (letters) packets from the routers - then they meet in the evening and painstakingly go through the loot recreating the data.
while dennis the great social engineer sends fake letters to the guys at the top hoping they will return the letters with the scalpels they use to open them

I like the part where Mutungaa says 'Find out where Njoki is in all this, she has been Shollei's adviser'. Sept 20t 2013 3:26 p.m. The deep divisions in the Judiciary will tear it apart. I expect resignations, this is just too damaging.

people don't resign in Kenya. i will be surprised if anyone resigns.... may be the CJ

My question is?

In light of the apparent beef between admin staff and judiciary proper and new staff and old guards

who approved the org structure?

Who carried out the interviews and promoted the staff that the war council wants to hound out?

JSC needs to come out honestly and address the problem

If CJ and his cohorts feel position of CRJ is where the balls are and his office is toothless how does the current drama address the problem?

what is the Ag's opinion on all this?

I think there is something terribly wrong with that organisational structure. In one of the emails the CJ is referred to as a 'headless Head of the Judiciary'. In another one the 'war council' is surprised that there are very many new recruits (hired by Shollei) to be based at Rahimtullah building and answerable to the registrar. Shollei also recruited regional directors who were answerable to her and not CJ, the directors were supposed to have an oversight role even over the judges in the various parts of the country! In yet another one GBS hires a company to drill a borehole on the grounds of the Supreme Court and only informs the CJ about it on the day of the start of drilling 'because it will affect the judges parking'. Seems Shollei was never answerable to the CJ. GBS appears to have been reporting to the JSC. How can Mutunga be the CJ whereas his admin wing reports elsewhere?

This is bad for the judiciary. A whole arm of government has been exposed shamefully. They need a major overhaul of structures and systems. I have absolutely no confidence in them right now. Mutunga needs to follow Joel Ngugi's repeated advice and act like the head of the judiciary. His Laissez Faire management style caused all these problems.

My disappointment is that in all this hullabaloo there exist some dark and very evil forces controlling CJ¡! ===> CALLED THE PATRIOTS

anybody care to harzard a guess who these are?

If you read keenly you'll notice the war council strategies require approval from these 'patriots'

Lenaola.'s name checks in i was very dissapointedSad Sad guy has been my hero

i will never trust my matter with Mutungaru courts! Its obvious what gies on behind the scenes

methinks time has come for Mutunga to go.

just to play devil's advocate, how many institutions in kenya have seen real reform as a result of changing the man or woman at the helm? let's cite some examples.
