Be careful, it's a propaganda war at this stage.

The timing of the attack made me think it was too convinient for the rebels

HOWEVER, ask yourself..

It turns out the sarin laded weapons were fired from Assad controlled strongholds. Who could have fired them from here?

The Israeli and American intelligence have repeated they have intercepted recorded phone conversations between regime members discussing the planning and execution of the attack. Sen Kerry even saying this is 100% credible intelligence accessible to various Western intelligence agencies.

Why were the UN Inspectors denied immediate access to the attack site by the Syrian government?

Important questions there Ecstacy. Very important. But,

Cui bono? For whose benefit?

Who will gain most from this pending war?

USA? Israel? Iran? Russia? China? Saudi Arabia? Al Qaeda?

I think its Saudi Arabia. They face off between America and Shia Islam will be a reality and the more damage they do to each other the happier the Sunnis will be. The end justifies the means.

Unless ICC is meant only for machete massacres this pending war should not be.

The phone calls can be evidence in the Hague - if they are 100% credible, they can and will stand in court.

UN inspectors, ICC investigators etc will still be denied 'immediate' access to the attack site if a war commences.

After the war, we will have to rely on the narrative of the victors.

And as you know, history is written by the victors.

@Muriel, you ask the best of questions but one that is normally asked first and at the very outset - "Who will gain most? " from the incident itself - the chemical attack.. not from the yet to happen international "war"..

"Who will gain most..?" speaks to motivation from where you now look for evidence.

I am at the evidence stage, the last one..and so are the UN and even the Russians..present it and the international show begins.
