@Limalika
This seems not to be the case. Read a story featured in the Nation sometimes back.
http://www.jambonewspot....eated-nairobis-skyline/ "Among my most technically complicated projects, Lonrho House takes the cake. When I got the deal to do the house, there was a two-storey structure on site which had existing tenants who were not expected to move out of their premises or close shop. We had to construct the house around and over them as they went on with their daily duties."
Also the story in the star newspaper seems to suggest that construction will proceed while clients go about their business.

"Justus Kathenge, the assistant director of city planning in charge of enforcement said the contractor, China Jiangxi International Kenya Limited, should indicate the modern technology they will use in the construction of the 39-storey structure to avoid affecting current tenants, including Nakumatt supermarket"
It will be interesting to see how this goes
