Hey all,

My own thoughts on Peter Kenneth are contained in the article linked to below. Some of the questions people have e.g. on KFF are answered personally by him (see the comments).

PK is a great leader and in any case no one is perfect. The fact that he appears to accommodate other tribes does not auger well with many Mt. Kenya folks. In a man eat man society like ours, the rich would not want the likes of PK to be president coz he is likely to disturb the status quo. Politics not centred on development will take us nowhere, fortunately many of us in Wazua can financially survive even with bad politics. Think about the so called Wanjiku who now considers sugar and cooking fat a luxury.

For real figures, how about zero (think about that ZERO) corruption/leakage in the CDF fund? How about a dispensary every 5 kilometres (which someone said is the United Nations standard)? Some of these people shouting about eradicating corruption have terrible track records in their own back yards!

Let us ask this: what was Ithanga like before Peter Kenneth's tenure, and what is it like now? That is the question. If we are now comparing areas within Peter Kenneth's constituency, isn't it because it is clear that he has done a good job on the whole? When we see ourselves clutching at intellectual straws, let's step back and start the thought process afresh. If the man has done an excellent job on the whole, aongezewe kazi.

In fact, Wamutonyi, I sometimes think that some of the so-called "progressives" supporting Martha Karua support her not because she is a reformist (and that is another debate altogether) but because they know she fought tirelessly for the Central Province cause in 2007/2008.

We cannot keep on distributing this Presidency on a round-robin basis like this. We don't have the time, and we cannot even afford it; our country will collapse under the current type of leadership.

I ask this: instead of having one President-per-tribe for the next 420 years or so, why not have one President for all Kenyans???

Maybe inherited, maybe smart head? must also be well connected -I understand he became MD KenyaRe without even a basic degree at a very young age. I think he acquired his current degree much later in the parallels??

Inherited what? dude was born in a humble home. He is some sort of a hardliner, he doesnt back down so easily, if he beleives in sth good, kibaki-style. The roads ministry must have been pissed with his insistence. . . well, maybe im biased, but i dont care, all i want is good roads regardless.
