Interesting how the country has moved the discussion into whether Manono is actually dead or alive. The point is what he went through was wrong in whichever way you twist it. No policeman should be allowed to put anyone through that. Such brutality has no place in our society.

Interesting that you do not know this is an interesting country!

stupidity will never end in Kenya. Many comments on social media also show that majority are disappointed the guy did not die. Sadists, Baaad and Saad.Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

The commissioners are staying put and they have stated that clearly. They are innocent until proven guilty. What next for Raila and his supporters? More protests? To what end?. BTW, can someone tell me how many Kenyans want the IEBC out. I am tired of hearing this nonsense, "Wakenya wamesema" and i am wondering when i became a non-Kenyan.

can some wazua nut-head create this poll. We the armchair soldiers want to see who supports what.

Should IEBC commissioners vacate office?

YES

NO.

Who cares

My stand on these guys is the same. Its beyond repair, whichever way you look at it. There is no way they will supervise the coming elections.

My 1 Cent:

1. A political contest should not only be fair, but should also be seen to be fair. We all know the key contenders of the high sit at this point in time is Jubilee and CORD. CORD feels the referee is biased, the other side has also some reasons to believe IEBC should go. Its even easier than we thought. Why not get a diplomatic solution where the country negotiates with the IEBC Commissioners and give them a send-off package for fairness sake? I am so sure even our "development partners" would be willing to help us pay out such. Even if we are to pay from our coffers, I honestly feel that would be a better way of spending the money(for the sake of a peaceful country) than having its chewed by a few through corruption.

3. Its my personal opinion that whatever method we use to send these guys home must be within the constitution. That is why my proposal is to call them aside and request them to resign "willingly" citing that they feel some of the important contestants in the race do not trust them. I don't think guys of this caliber should be seen to be 'imposing' themselves on the people, however right their defense may be.

No they are not clean.
They only credible commission would be the one that declares Bupamba the winner!

@Washiku,
That is alright. I might share or i might not share your opinion. After that? Can "protesting" once a week change the law. Can protesting 365 days a year change the law? You know the answer! Finally, it's pathetic , as Josiah so rightly puts it, to see the so called elderly leaders, buttocks on tarmac and believing they can change the law that way. It's pathetic and plain silly.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Not to forget the Kenyan courts which declare "clean" all sorts of thieves because of some "magical laws",
Look at the constitution:- Financial Probity of State Officers (catching thieves)
(2) A State Officer shall not-
(a) maintain a bank account outside Kenya:-
Such a thieve has been caught red handed, but the poor man is still paying for the mercedes ride of such a 'thieve', in our courts!!!! and the thief is free the "real" chicken thieves, so as to create a trap of "desparate" chicken thieves, whom are then stuffed into jail, people whom they should be THINKING of how to employ, they jail, whearas the real thieves, the true cause of thievery go free, even by constitution, go in mercedes, whearas they would have been hanged 10 years ago in China. Then you point at the President, the courts?

They say even death cannot cure idiocy . Why do Kenyans like lying to themselves? Are we just hopelessly idiotic? Picketing, Strikes, demonstrations or whatever you want to call it, is actually guaranteed in the "new"constitution.
Whatever Cord is doing at the moment is none of the above.
How many times have teachers held demos around the country for better pay?
How many times have nurses and doctors held strikes and picketed for better pay and better working conditions.
How many times have rights groups held demos over various human rights issues. The list is endless. How many of such have ended with scenes like we are witnessing? Few and far apart if any.

Is is more than obvious the demonstrations have nothing to do with picketing or whatever nice name you want to call it. Its plain violence being meted out on innocent Kenyans. Then we act all surprised and start taking sides on who is right and who was wrong when police brutally carry out extrajudicial punishments and/or killings, when women get raped in the preceding melee, when shops are looted and so on and so forth.

The reason we have institutions and laws is so that we can abide by them no matter how aggrieved we feel whether rightly or wrongly. If tomorrow other "leaders" woke up and decided that all judges must be forcefully removed from office because of a case which they lost and uses their influence among the population then what next. Seemingly barbarism is not limited to our neanderthal ancestors. When you start putting aside the constitution to please someone so that you can be guaranteed "peace" then you are equally to blame because the cycle will forever be endless.
2007 is coming as we pretend to take moral sides instead of nicking it the bud. Anyway what do I know!
