Back in March 2012, IATA gave a gloomy outlook for the airline industry in 2012.

2 weeks ago they emphasised on that same outlook - www.straitstimes.com/Bre...ory/STIStory_809672.html

If you invest in airline stocks for the short term and lose your money as the stocks bleed, well, you deserve the losses...

And does KQ still do the hedging thing. If so, with the fall in crude, so will be the fall in its profits, and a subsequent fall in its stock price!

This the problem with africans (not race but geographical). They never invest for the future. GOK, KLM air france and IFC are not daft to invest in the rights. I bought the rights and will be buying more as the share falls and await the dreamliners. If i dont see profit in my lifetime, i leave the shares for my children and grand children! KQ is here to stay.

Its clear by now that buying the rights was not a wise decision.meanwhile the dreamliners continue being a dream as the name suggests...iam waiting to bridge the dilution at 8-10bob

To some it was a wise decison while to others it was not.
Take the case of IFC and GO;it was a wise decision.

why buy the rights while you could have gotten them at a 40% discount?

@sparkly it would be dangerous for you to align your personal goals with that of GOK or IFC..
If you were to follow someone at least let it be NSSF..

Unlike NSSF These institutions do not chase profits or higher share prices.. They are interested first in the country's development...

Unlike NSSF These institutions have a much higher capacity to absorb losses and therefore they have a higher tolerance for making bad investments..

Ask the IFC how many bad debts they have forgiven to date..

He he he!! This is the stuff that separates champions from wimps.Wimps invest in loosing stocks under the pretext that they will bequeath them to their children.Be a winner, don't invest in dead stocks like NEVEREADY and others!!!
