says who???

Ask Equity Bank shareholders who joined before it converted to a bank if they have any complaints.

After several bonuses and splits that 50 cents might the equivalent of 5/= per current 10/= share in the not so distant future!

@maichblack what do you see in this suspension. Iko hope ama its over

I don't think the suspension is anything negative to straight forward banks and prospective banks. The Central Bank wants to improve on its oversight role. You can expect the rules to be more strict and enforcement more thorough. One of the things that will definitely change are the requirements to become a bank and hence the suspension so that all new banks come in using the new rules.

The "indefinitely" should not scare you. It simply means they don't know how long it will take to come up with the new rules. And the Opus Dei man doesn't look like a person wa kuregarega. The suspension will be lifted soon. Probably in two or three months - I guess.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I know the opus dei man loves small market players since he came to their defense when some greedy sharks wanted to edge them out with the 5 billion requirement .so I guess he should be the one encouraging small players to enter the big game. Thanks for the insight though .

Let me give my suggestion to Unaitas. You may benefit the members more by going real estate.

By this I mean just buy and sell shambas as a side business, this banking business is too complex for you at this stage.

@streetwise ,I took time to analyze what you feel about unaitas. Laughing out loudly I think I can draw a graph on your financial judgements about this sacco.

"My offer of 6 Bob for full amount stands with a deadline of Monday the 28th Sept 2015 at 11:00 am."

"Let us do this more intelligently who knows the NAV of Unaitas
( Assume issued shares equivalent to 1.9"

"I seem to be confused so let me ask. What was the purpose of the SPECIAL AGM ?"

"We sema bwana . Wazuans are insiders, there is no risk"

"I think we all thougt this thing was going to make money earlier. Plus there is money crunch"

"Unaitas should keep of the radar , they are good as a sacco. This banking business is hot potato"

"They know nothing, that is where the problem is ! they have waited for news for too long now they want their money for some more active speculation"

"Wazeee so you knew this that is why you were selling

http://www.nation.co.ke/...4hic/-/index.html
You should have told us bwana !!!!!"

"ARE YOU serious it is Good news ? Please read

from the above I can relate it to a boy who just proposed to a girl and she refused him for unknown reasons.so he is juggling with guesses why she refused him. So the phase is proposal, then rejection, then denial, followed by guilt and lastly acceptance .Laughing out loudly .at first you were willing to invest then you turn out to be this aggressive opposition to it. Well....I could be wrong though .Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Is unaitas big enough to acquire or merge with a small bank?

Either way, this freezing of licensing should be lifted after the banking sector stabilizes, but I'd like to hear unaitas stance on it

Unaitas Net assets value as at 2014 stands at about 1.8B..(Unaitas financials) with this, they can't match even the least capitalized bank UBA bank's 4.7B net assets (CBK bank's report). In the CBK report, I have ignored Dubai Bank because of it's current status.

Same reason banks also say they have "given" you a loan which of course you have to pay back with interest.

Last I heard was issuing licenses by cbk was suspended affecting their ambition to be a bank. Next I heard they are funding a project on Nairobi Nakuru highway. And before that they opened a branch in naivasha.@pesanane told me no news is good news . So tugonjee.

I heard Embu was aborted. They are having serious liquidity compliance ratios with the current regulator SASRA thus not getting go ahead to open further branches. How do they even get to av guts to cope with CBK regulations??!!! NSE ni vision 2050 for those in this ship.

Or do it like mwalimu sacco who are buying huge shares in Merali existing bank.i know starting from scratch with this suspension of bank registration by cbk is next to impossible. Look for a struggling bank and buy them out then change the name to UNAITAS .

What will the shareholder get if they convert to the bank. Is it not better to continue eating the 10% dividends ?.
