For that reason, I have revised my earlier 1:1 prediction at Anfield to 2:1, I believe there will be a penalty/controversial decision in this 2 games
These seem to be the only predictions I got right
By the way @Karisblue,good stuff, got the Spurs and Anfield predictions spot on
Anyway, now I know how it feels to be on the worng end of the wrong refereeing decisions! The penalty was never there and that Hernandez goal that was ruled off was marginal (I've seen those given before)- that linesman must be a closet City fan
I agree with the pundits that they should restore the touch line video monitor that they used to have initially where in such a dead ball case, the 4th official would quickly look at the replay and tell the referee he is right on his first decision to rule a goal kick and he should therefore over-rule the blind linesman!
Water under the bridge I guess, hope such decisions will not have an effect on the title like they did in the 2009/2010 season when 2 offside decisions were passed over as Drogba scored twice to ensure we finished the season 1 point behind Chelsea (that one was painful, especially after Gerrard quickly followed with an obvious back pass to Drogba at Anfield to seal our fate)
I didn't watch the Arsenal match but I understand they laboured for a draw - even City didn't look sharp at Anfield, which as @Marty rightly points out, is a pointer to the midweek CL exertions (apart from AC & Real, all big teams dropped points over the wkend after CL - Bayern lost to Mainz 2-3 and Barca lost to Getafe!!!:d/ )
City can thank Joe Hart for keeping out the Kop (so should the Magpies with Krul at OT)but I honestly think Man City now have what it takes to win that title - they're able to grind out results even in difficult matches, a thing Man Utd are best known for in the past. I won't be surprised if they lose to some lowly team (like we did to Wolves when we went 18 unbeaten games last season)but I prefer if they drop down to Europa league so as to be playing games on Thursdays and hopefully that will take their toll.
Spurs are going about their business quite well, picking up points against small opposition (which normally can win you a title if the only points you drop are against the big teams) but their credentials should be tested when they host Chelsea just before Christmas.
Carling cup coming up...
