I am more concerned with the concept of retributive justice under the rapidly evolving international geo-politics. Russia's economic strategic importance to Europe has messed up the quest for justice for the passengers. France even went ahead and delivered military hardware to Russia while the EU was discussing sanctions.
That said, I hope we are in agreement that Putin's power is economic and not military.
In Gaza, Israel's right to defend herself seems to be crossing the line into war crimes territory. But the countries who matter in the arab world wont raise a finger i.e. Saudi arabia, Egypt et.al. I have been a great admirer of Israel but the death of 7 Palestine kids has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Since when did justice stop being a black and white affair ? Why so many gray areas ? Why is the world so f#*+g messed up ?
On that 'little matter' of lines... they were crossed when the Jihadists declared war on anybody (children included) anywhere (even at the North pole) who is Kuffar (Including your investments). Sadly Israel understands its old enemy well. both factions believe in an eye for an eye. 3 Israeli kids were kidnapped and killed....

When is Justice a black and white affair? Has it ever been black or white? @Tycho, justice has always been a straight-forward affair in most societies. A thief would be put in a beehive and rolled downhill where I come from. His family lineage notwithstanding. Heck, we don't even have a word for sorry, if you messed up you don't make a fuss about it. You pay the fine (retribution) and life goes on. So its okay to punish al-shabab, al-qaeda, boko haram, but Putin's thugs can go scot free ? But Israeli soldiers can wipe out seven innocent kids ? They can bomb a hospital and its okay ?

Please don't divert. Use the other thread to discuss its issues.

Sadly, the collective guilt that has been haunting the world over the Jewish Holocaust is slowly but surely ebbing out. In a few years, there will be a generation that cannot identify with the pain and suffering of the Jews under Hitler, and then Israel might discover too late that they pushed the boundaries too far. The USA and EU have already blocked their airlines from using Ben Gurion airport. Now Israel must get to the negotiating table or they watch their economy go down. Their most celebrated mossad commander, capt Meir dagan, would definitely have opposed the current war. His approach was always to go for targeted eliminations. Hamas leaders celebrated when he retired a few years ago.

These guys seems to be such a troublesome lot wherever they go.Back in Egypt - Is it shocking why Pharaoh had beef with them? Up in Europe - Is it surprising that the Germans described the Jews as a stumbling block to the identity and cohesion of the German nation and as enemies within the Germans' own country? They said that the existence of Jews in Germany posed a problem for the state. That was the begining of the term "Jewish Question", first used around 1750 in Britain (wikipaedia). " From that point hundreds of other tractates, pamphlets, newspaper articles and books were written on the subject, with many offering "solutions" including resettlement, deportation and assimilation of the Jewish population" FinallyIn 1933 two Nazi theorists, Johann von Leers and Achim Gercke, both proposed that the Jewish Question could be solved most humanely by resettling Jews in Madagascar or elsewhere in Africa or South America. Both intellectuals discussed the pros and cons of supporting the German Zionists as well, but von Leers asserted that establishing a Jewish homeland in British Palestine would create humanitarian and political problems for the region. And which immigrant is never a troublesome lot wherever he goes? We can start internally with Kenya.. Wabara in Pwani Kikuyus in RV Somalis in Eeisich Jungus in Africa Arabs at the coast Northern Africa migrants in Europe.... anybody migrating is always a pain in the wrong places to the inhabitants..
having said that. Let us not forget there are more Jews everywhere else than in Israel. some countries can simply be declared Jewish owned. I wont name them
But if history has shown us anything. it is a cycle bound to repeat itself over and over again.
Only that for these three main religions. IT IS THE END TIMES!! The Promised one is coming! whoever that is, that they all believe is. We can all just chill and see who among them has been believing the real deal.

CNN and SkyNews report that the FAA has lifted the ban on flights to Israel after 36hrs during which Israel had lobbied intensely for the lifting. No word yet in European carriers. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.
