What? Is this the money going to charity or the cost of the tree? If it is the cost of the tree, Nyandarua people need to eject their Governor from office by close of business today.

Mayors (and governors) all over the world light up xmas trees and collect funds that go to charity. So what is wrong with the Nyandarua governor lighting up a 10k Xmas tree? His opponents and malicious bloggers were saying it cost 2m but he provided receipts showing that it cost just 10k (tree 8k and lights 2k).
