"Life not ending, maintain peace after Supreme Court verdict - Raila

Raila Odinga has asked Kenyans to maintain peace during and after the highly anticipated Supreme Court ruling on his election petition.

The Opposition leader and NASA presidential candidate relayed this message on Thursday through Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o.
Raila disputed Uhuru Kenyatta's victory saying the August 8 vote was marred by massive irregularities.

There were demonstrations in his strongholds in Nairobi, Homa Bay and Kisumu and there was fear after NASA chief strategist David Ndii said they are ready for mass action.

But Raila said: "Whatever happens today, we are winners. Go to church and temples to give thanks to God.
"A soldier lives to fight another battle. Therefore, today the world is not coming to an end."
This was part of the message Nyong'o read during the burial of Christabel Ouko, the widow of former Foreign Affairs minister Robert Ouko.
Justice David Maraga is leading the team of Supreme Court judges in writing the judgement.

Raila noted peace is crucial for the country's unity and development.
He said whatever the court decision, Kenyans must remain peaceful and united...."
