Wazua has great impact on not only on NSE even on the political scene.

Look at the referendum, the opinion polls on Wazua were almost exactly the actual vote.

I was at the Mhasibu housing company meeting on 25 sept 2010 at stima club and everyone I talked to knew about Wazua. It was a very high profile meeting where even the housing permanent secretary , Kenya Bankers sacco top management, officials from Coop bank top official were present. They all knew about Wazua.

Wazua can even give direction on who will be the next president of this country.Applause Applause Applause Applause Applause Applause

Stock master I guess wazua does have an impact on the NSE!
Case study Eaagads share.
25 october- tatu city launch gone public. Hits media with a frenzy news, television prominent politicians. Eaagads share price= 48 shillings volume 200 share traded.
For perspective previous trades were october 22: 50 shillings volume 200.
26 october: Story hits wazua http://www.wazua.co.ke/f...aspx?g=posts&t=9301 Story starts a positive feedback cycle eventually leading to a frenzy. Discussion starts by doubt, pity of the coffee sector and eventually pertinent questions asked who sold land and how much?? Prover_b and waithaka ask.
Eaagads trades 26 oct: 48 shillings volume 200
27 oct: 46 shillings volume 700
28 october: finally reponse from kiriita claiming it is eaagads who sold the land.
Trades 28 october: 49.75 volume 2900
29 october: 53.50 volumes 9000
Speculators start boarding the band wagon.
1 november: 57.00 volume 7200
Clearly word is now getting out and everyone wants a piece of the pie. The initial thread dies a natural death as the speculators want to avoid spooking others before they have their piece.
2 november: 59.50 volume 33,000
3 november 65.00 volume 87900
November 4:
Business daily catch on to the trend and report it very late of course. http://www.businessdaily...52/1046378/-/jcr2rwz/-/
4 november: 71.50 volume 56,100
5 november. The truth is out. After market closure the owners see things are getting out of hand and they need to reign in the market. The truth douse water speculative fire.
5 november: 78.50 volume 4,300
8 november: The market opens, truth is out and every one wants out. We know what happens.
8 november: 71.00 volume 40,500

Lets see what happens....

@tony- gud job man. If that is what happened, then we have no choice but to embrace wazua that is if we r not endorsing it. It beats all odds that the chain of reaction should simply be linked to wazua. I too stumbled on wazua n since then it has helped me big time in decision making- this is a case of a pilot being a chef, ofcourse the pilot has to read books about first class menus n recipes, with this said, wazua is currently my book. As the case now depends on the other jury,i rest my case sayin wazua has impact on the nse.

@tony Stark; Eaagads is not a good example. All the info that drive the counter up was in the public domain.... the press...
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

cannot work with safaricom..too much liquidity

traded 6.2million yesterday..to influence price you need capacity to mop up supply..6.2 million at 4.70 comes to ksh 29.1million..

i doubt collectively all wazuans would pool all their monies to raise such an amount..or close to to mop up today's supply, just to prove a point..

suggest a less liquid counter. Probably Mid tier bank..

the egaard part could be interesting on its own, even if no basis for generalization.

the bit about whose(egaard) cofee tatu was drinking is the key point. did this come first in the public media or wazua?

@muhika the info waz in the pubkic domain canot be dispute. My alternative hypothesis is wazua hyped up the information driving up share volumes and price. This rally waz definately driven by retail speculators. The volumes, demand and supply of the shares, and the timeline fit in well with wazua as the source of info or misinformation.
@ alikujia i tried to look at the usual public source nation, bd, etc and the first reference to eaagads waz on wazua.

ACTIVITY 2/2011:

DATE: 06/01/2011

PURCHASE OF KENOL KOBIL 30,000 SHARES @ KSH 10.00.
A 15% capital gain in the next two months is expected.

Happy hunting.

The stocksmaster effect is about to kick in. hundred of site vistors have seen this post. Online orders are now being placed through suntra and cfc websites. Other employees have deserted their desks running to the stock broker to place orders.
KK is going to be on the top 5 stocks today and next week as orders are placed.
The price will slowly inch up to 11 -11.50 (10% -15% return) next week as demand outstrips supply. The smart ones will cash out as they wait for the stocksmaster effect to die down prices will be back to 9.00 - 10 by end of January and the stock will run it course.

@ Stocksmaster good pick.

@Tony Stark
Am new to this site. Are you actually saying that people will buy / sell shares based on one person's postings on an online forum? What a total bunch of idiots! He / she is not even investing real money! What a bunch of muppets. It's a shame there's no possibility to short shares and punish such speculators. Are there any brokers who can offer shorting of shares?
