It says alot about thier strategy and poor planning, its not the capacity link issues with safcom, now sims cards next will be scrath cards then IN-capacity, the list is endless

Zain were to launch 3g by july, what happened? The voice market has overheated but SAf are way ahead in data provision.By the time they find out data is the place to be,Saf will still be leading with 4g and wimax...they will always be playing catch up. The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

Of all previous price cuts, this has had real impact. Safcom dealers are saying their revenue has gone down significantly. This is a real battle

They don't seem to have put much thought and planning, just spur of the moment action. Why not recruit more dealers, make more simcards and scratchcards first. Btw there is a full page advert in the nation reading "masaa ya kubamba yanakuja" in a green font. Life is short. Live passionately.

Unless they lower the rates to as much as yu or Zain, or reduce their data costs drastically, they will not have ''bambad'' anyone. Since 70% of Safaricom's revenue comes from voice, if they go that low, the likes of 2012 can then buy the share at 3.50/= GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

Wouldn't it be ironic that the market leader with 80% is reacting to a much smaller players moves? Philip Kotler will have to rewrite his book!

They have to move fast and roll out the 3G
