Kidero Kidero Kidero...
There are many challenges in Nairobi including political opposition and intrigues, inadequate funds, rent-seeking systems inherited at City Hall and historical issues (loans, dues to Kanjo workers, LATF, etc)
The mettle of a leader is tested by the ability to overcome, despite the challenges. I think Kidero has failed.
It does not help that we are unearthing serious malpractices during his tenure at Mumias... but then again common things occur more commonly, ama??

This might actually work

The reforms were announced last week with more right turns in roundabouts expected to be barred in the next two weeks. This will include the Westlands roundabout where motorists from the city and Rhapta Road will no longer be allowed to turn to Westlands but will instead proceed to make a U-turn at Brookside Drive then make their way back to the Westlands.

There's more to Nairobi's problems than traffic.

Traffic is just but one of them. But Is Kidero to blame? The man is trying to sort out everyone else's mess.

@ fyatu, we already gave him the chance in 2013, but this does not mean we forfeited our right to recall him or complain when things are not right. For instance how do you wake up suddenly and declare that all roundabouts on Uhuru high way will be converted to tee junctions, no study, public consultations no nothing. And remember this is an international trunk road not county road

@lima, it's not T-junctions. It's removing roundabouts. Now find out how the flow will be. I think's gona improve, just like how city roads were made one way.
yes but these roundabout have been there all along and no one ever conceived this brilliant idea? Even when you get an 'Eureka!' moment, at least get someone to do a traffic study, design, etc to validate otherwise we will just be doing experiments

Yes, nothing is new. Everyday new ways of doing things are discovered. So this one is not anything strange.
Your problem is too much assumptions. Who told you there was no traffic study, design etc? Many times I have passed roundabouts and I see young girls and boys seated ticking some forms as they watch the traffic.

This is not enough. He just needs to ensure the feeder roads to CBD all have functional traffic lights and the roads flowing out of CBD are eg Thika Rd have no stupid speed limits of 50KPH

There are no designs at the time of announcement, infact that's when he said a study will be done. And of young boys with forms, what were these for? Sounds too 18th century
