ET has more planes than KQ and that doesnt mean there's anything wrong with KQ

That I know plus they have more orders than KQ. I rarely see any flight on their airspace!!

The radar just doesnt show. Click on the airport icon and see all the planes taking off and landing. By the way there are planes on the west african side too but the radar just doesnt show. I have never sported BA flights

I don't know how accurate it is but I have found that flight radar and flight ware are not consistent. Back to our discussions. Currently ET has 20 flights airborne and KQ has 4!!! Make a comparison: ET has a fleet of 62 KQ has 46!! SA has a fleet of 55, 16 of which are currently airborne according to flight ware. This has been the trend for as long as my analysis has lasted!! Most of our planes are grounded.

There are more trackers in Europe/US and planes seems more or less like they are colliding on air but in Africa looks more like a free flying space with very few flights being tracked.

I think the key to answering the above questions is to know how Flightradar24 works. It depends on a community of volunteers/enthusiasts who host FR24 equipment (given free by FR24) to feed data to their servers. All the host need is an internet connection eg ethernet or a 3g modem plus a wifi router, no computer required. The areas of eg Europe that have alot of coverage means that there are more volunteers since i think one receiver covers a radius of about 400km. Thus if there were more volunteers from the various african countries (including ethiopia), then the coverage could be wide. Also the more receivers in a country, and well dispersed, the better the coverage. Also note that not all planes can be detected on FR24, but most of the new planes are. FR24 is always seeking for volunteers.

Traffic jam in the air.....planes from Dubai heading to Europe but avoiding Syrian airspace due to the war in syria. Also avoiding Iranian airspace, thus planes concentrated on a very narrow path.

Not every plane is captured by the radar. Anther thing there's a diff btn ETD & ETH

There's nowhere I wrote ETD. I first used ETH (ICAO designator) and then changed to ET. Both refer to the same airline. It's flight ware that has the option of seeing how many flights an operator has airborne. I haven't seen that with flight radar.

Valid points but my results are based on flightware and not FR24 data

Just click on 'Filter' option on the left panel of FR24 and input the airline code eg UAE for emirates, KQ, ETH etc. Eg using the filter, i can see that 77 emirates planes are currently in the air.

KQ's Embraers (17) and most of the 737's (10 out of 15) don't have the Mode S transponders so they are not able to be tracked by Flightrader24. They use Mode C.
Most, if not all. light aircraft / helicopters operating from Wilson are also invisible to Flightradar24 for the same reason.

Aaah...that explains it. Been wondering why so few kq planes on the radar yet there are many flights by kq eg. nbo msa kssm.. I had assumef its got something to do with the type of aircraft coz the dreamliner and 767, some 737s , 777 were captured by the radar.
