@ Tokyo, what is the cost of Shinkansen Tokyo - osaka line per km?

It costs JYen 50,000, and takes less than 2hrs, I have been down that route . Do not try and compare SGR with Shinkansen ( bullet train) my friend .

The guy is asking about the cost of construction and not fare, I think so?

d'oh!

According to Mr Google, bullet train does 320km/hr, osaka - tokyo 500 km, cost about 15000 yen, that's like KES 15k. so it seems to me that SGR at 120km/hr nbi - msa 500km, KES 4500/= is fair

That price sounds fair, remember the train is not going to even replace 20% of the road passenger capacity.

If I take my wife to the coast and we use this railway transport alone will be 18,000. What percentage of Kenyans can manage that?

What percentage of Kenyans can manage to take their wives to coast?

You are also making an assumption that many kenyans who go to coast are married which is wrong in fact it is the single kenyans who go to coast
