Governors risk legal action over county jobsThe move comes following reports that some counties were excluding some ethnic groups and clans in their hiring for new jobs, running the risk of posing a serious danger to national healing and cohesion.
Among the counties NCIC has cited as having flouted the law that requires inclusion were Isiolo, Kiambu, Machakos, Turkana, Kisii and Kwale. The law also requires that at least 30 per cent of the civil service should include people who originate from outside each county to promote national cohesion.
โThere is a worry that the counties are becoming ethnic enclaves. In some counties there is a deliberate move to exclude other ethnic groups while others are going as far as appointing only from their clans. This is why we are raising the alarm,โ said commission chairman Mzalendo Kibunjia.
Kibunjia and NCIC might be toothless bulldogz but here they have their finger on a problem
