Meanwhile Kenyans are dying of insecurity in Mandera/Wajir. Is this the right time to leave ua home for a 3 weeks trip. Kweli our priorities are upside.

I have always said they should stop these trips and concentrate on security before it's too late.
What good will it be for them when there if there is lawlessness in Kenya.

Interesting ideas. My assumption is that if he stays, we'll have peace. Right?

Thought the insecurity in Mandera and other parts of N.Eastern has something to do with the clans (read local leaders)?

The insecurity is an issue of resources and revenge attacks.County governments should should be able to handle this however it's all about influence,he can decide to tackle this issue head-on and later orders Kimayo to maintain peace.

Can the govt esp from the top ensure that this thing is stopped forever?yes they can...somebody once asked imagine if 20 people died in westlands or lavington...it will be in the news for years to come, the backlash would be crazy but because its in North Eastern there is little will power to sort out the mess it doesnt matter if its inter clan or whatever its the govts preroggative to ensure its dealt with once and for all...

Agreed. The will power is lacking.

For some of us he can take as many trips as he can so long as they benefit the motherland. Watu waache kuumwa!

The head of state has his cabinet and deputy president to manage in his absence there is no way you will let such a trip take a back seat every time a securty issue arises

point is three weeks is too long for a country in so much crisis.in a civilised country, the head of state would actually call off his trip.ours appears to be running away from these problems.

point 2 this is an expensive tour and must be interrogated in terms of cost benefits/ return on investment.how many joyrides will be in it for 3 weeks on our taxes?
