that debate is now DEAD. The sponsors should start counting their losses for the millions they invested. I think OAR & UMK should agree to have their own debate, live on K24 on the same time the 'others'(muite, kenneth, martha, kiyapi, dida, muda)will be having the national debate. If OAR decides to continue with this debate, the 'others' will gang up against him

Mmmhh...

I hear Amologue is also considering skipping as well. think UK is afraid of being asked about land issues and RAO about his track record.

@ Mc Reggae, as you can see someone else has also confirmed the same thing. The two leading contenders don't want to lose more votes one week to the elections. Akina Kiyapi, PK, Dida, Karua & Muite don't have anything to lose if anything they are the major beneficiaries in the debates.

Jubilee have a point. The debate was fixed to cover only one elephant and let the other elephants off the hook.

If Uhuru does not participate then the debate is dead.....completely dead....and it should be unless all the other elephants are discussed as well.

COARD TV and KTN are all biased toward COARD. They either conform or they debate among themselves, while Jubilee Uhuru Campaigns...

Now that the polls are showing a neck to neck race, Jubilee will tip over the scales at 52% by 4th March 2013....A first Round win. WAPENDE WASIPENDE.

I am still not clear how OAR came from 51% to current 44%. Can someone educate me on this one....At this rate, he will end up at between 38 and 42% on 4th March...

All of a sudden the polls are now credible....

From what i gather hata OAR is not really interested in the debate but i'm sure now he'll probably use UK as an excuse. The land issue is very sensitive and with one week to the elections both candidates would not want to mess things up in the debate. I think in future these debates should not be held too close to the elections.

I gather that UMK has not blatantly rejected the 2nd presidential debate...he intends to use Skype!!

This is not good at all. Was waiting to hear debate on the land, economy, foreign policy and devolution involving ALL.

I would have been very eager to hear UK on the three issues above, especially his foreign policy given that he is an ICC suspect of crimes against humanity. Sad

Njumbiree fellows are very interesting.

The land issue is a serious issue especially in swing areas such as the coast.

By not attending, he wins only his diehard supporters who would still vote for him if he walked out of Karumaindo naked at 10am in the morning.

But he loses all the swing voters who will see him as a coward who can't deal with issues.

I'm sure he's getting encouragement from the crazy fellows on this post who are now saying that every TV station in Kenya save K24 is against him. And now the polls are perfect.

Mr. Uhuru will lose credibility even with his own supporters who aren't going to vote 6 piece suits.

All that it needs is a few words from akina Karua like "i'm not afraid to answer questions like others who don't show up for debates"

"if he can't show up for a debate, can he show up for a trial in the Hague"

"when he's high when he's president, will he show up or, will Ruto be ruling"

I mean a few choice statements from his challengers and you can kiss his candidature goodbye.

Personally, I would be very excited to not see his face for a very very long time.

As for Njumbiree fellows a coward is a coward in any language on this earth.
