I would only consider alternative options upon a doctor's recommendation.

How much do anaethists cost? I was told that they cost an arm and leg.

Epidural is not for everybody who desires it.
That spinal injection is not an easy affair so your doctor has to recommend based on your health status etc.Pray that it's not done by a quack.

I watched a demo and was taught the plus and negatives.Labour doesn't have to be horrifying, some women felt 'period cramps'when they were actually dilating then poof! baby.

If you are physically fit, with no complications, push that baby out using own strength.
You will be amazed at how fast your body goes back to firm shape in weeks ok ie if you are still young not 50.

good luck

Epidural while having a normal delivery?

Or epidural instead of general anaesthesia during caeserian section?

If it's a normal delivery, isn't the labour pain part and parcel of the joy of having a baby?
"Occasionally I drop a tea cup to shatter on the floor. On purpose. I am not satisfied when it does not gather itself up again. Someday perhaps that cup will come together."

Is the latter possible? An epidural is a process applicable for normal delivery .It's for cowards of pain during birth.

I think anaesthesia for kiserian session is given once before the slaughter? while an epidural lasts throughout the labor process where One receives doses of pain relief with each painful contraction through a 20 inch needle inserted in the :spinal cord!" ouuch.

Giving birth is supposed to be a natural process of getting the baby out when its ready.Just like in the case of animals you find a cow gave birth in the night with no assistance.

Unless you really have a problem go the natural way.

Its more of a psychological thing..if you prepare for pain the pain you shall get in abundance...if you prepare for pleasure especially with the bundle of joy in mind then pleasure you will get.

In my experience what is percieved as pain is more of a discomfort like what you get when you have cramps or when he you constipation and you have to push real hard.

Guess what? You will even feel as your baby descends and turns to get the right exit posture.Nothing feels greater than that.

Benefits

You heal faster. You can be landed on in 3 weeks.
You start nyonyoing early..good for mama and baby.
You get back to shape soonest.
You start enjoying motherhood from day one
You save alot

So go for it lady.Wachana na hiyo epiwhatever ama CS if you are healthy.

Nb.As the due date approaches eat a lot of energy giving foods to help you on the hour.

Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

@BigChick good advice right there Applause

Natural should be default. Other options on medical grounds only. Natural has all the advantages.
