@Scubidu

have you ever read the CSIA Curriculum from KASNEB? its much the same as CFAs but looking at the exams it seems very weighty more so on the final sections (5 and 6)

Unfortunately i have not heard about it. Sounds like a really good opportunity. I hope you have enrolled for a paper of two.

A CSIA cannot compare to a CFA in anyway.. CFAs standards are unmatched..

Are you aware CSIA is an undergraduate course while CFA is a postgraduate course??

One can start CSIA straight out of high school.. But To attempt CFA you definitely have to be a degree holder..

the two curriculum are un-comparable. it(CFA) separates the men from the boys. However,with the CSIA,one can get an iternational certificate from the Association of certified International Investment Analyst (ACIIA) that has global recognition as well.

whats your take and which is more applicable in kenya?

Both the courses are applicable in Kenya.. BTW It is impossible to compare undergraduate and postgraduate courses..

Earning a CFA charter is as far as you get in professional finance.. I know people who have upgraded to CFA after completing CSIA...

Hi Emlyn. Depends on how much you have to trade with and how ethical you are... arrangements can be made for you to be used as a money making vehicle. As a retailers it's not viable. I have also seen high net worth individuals and saccos have also largely not explored the bond mart.
