Who is this man, Raila Odinga really?

I have chosen to live with the fact that for whatever reason, The Right Honorable Amolo O. Odinga has a cult following. That is the reality and nobody can "Tunya" him that. Adding to this, a Citizen of the Virtual Republic has poured his heart out and expressed his reasons, five of them, why he will go out there and tick The Right Honorable's box as his preferred choice as the next Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Kenya despite coming from the "wrong" region. The 1982 Coup, the maize scandal et al are all negatives on The Right Honorableness's Curriculum Vitae, yet the cult following still exists and the Citizen will still go out there and vote for him. My own kid brother, born and brought up on the slopes of Mount Kenya and who speaks Gigikuyu with Ndia accent swears by the Right Honourable. These are the realities of the day and I have no choice but to confront them and plan my future with this in mind. I plan, nay, I have planned and put in place a strategy where The Right Honourable ascends to His Excellency and placed my self in a situation where my service to the Nation would make me indispensable to an Odinga Regime. My worst case scenario would be the Son of Jomo becoming His Excellency, bad scenario would be an Odinga Regime. For the record, I have not registered as a voter nor do I intend to, at least for the next two general elections, sorry, erections as Wazuans are wont to say, for I have a deep antipathy to the manner in which we Kenyans chose our leaders. So much for pouring my heart out.

1. why would you wish to concentrate all your efforts to discuss a person you'd not vote for, why not try selling positive attributes of your favourite candidate?
2. Why would you want us to depend on foreign press (Zimbabwe of all places,MUGABE's paper)to tell us about our own citizen?
3. Who did you vote for in 2002, Kibaki or Uhuru, now that Raila supported Kibaki then (and assuming u also voted KIBz) why did u dine with Raila the enemy that caused a coup in 1982,among other ills ?.
4. and finally, why do you sound familiar, your hatred for Raila sounds familiar, like u were usered by Admin, then resurrected into something called madammary?
Your Posts should tell us where Kenyans should positively move to, for the benefit of all Kenyans. But when u walk, talk and sleep hatred for someone, u should go to Zimbabwe.
LOOKS LIKE THIS MADAMMARY IS GOING TO BE USERED ANYTIME SOON. NO WONDER SHE'S TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET OUT OF WAZUA SO SHE COULD MAKE A QUICK EXIT BEFORE WAZUA ADMIN CATCHES UP WITH HER. IT WOULD SAVE HER THE EMBARASSMENT AND AM SURE THAT'S WHY SHE STARTED THE THREAD,'HOW TO CANCEL WAZUA ACCOUNT' ON WAZUA.

From what i know, it's a fact that the 'TRIBE' is not going to disappear anytime soon. Tribalism is so ingrained in us, it would take a generation or so to rid ourselves of this evil and that's if we are willing to do away with it in the first place. Some politicians would obviously not let this happen as it is by whiping up tribal sentiments in the ordinary citizenry that they ascend to power. After which they enjoy the national cake together with their ethnic community elite and to some extent with the elite from other communities, if they find out they can't really survive without the other. So no matter what most people might want us to believe, the contrary is true: most of us are tribalists and foolishly so. It's up to us to decide whether we want to see ourselves as kenyans.

the son of jaramogi studied engineering at west germany. For his project, he chose to make a nail bomb. Now with all other engineering problems, why devote time and resources in making bombs. But with such a CIC, alshabab will never know what hit them until they get to their virgins without corneas

Sarah Elderkin couldnt put it any better with a tongue in the cheek quip on Raila's transgressions 'I bet it’s that Raila Odinga again. After all, he’s in charge of, or to blame for, most things in the world – Obama, climate change, the ICC, the Kenya Government, the Mau Forest, matatus overtaking on the wrong side, global recession, the escalating cost of hair weaves, too much foam on the beer, too little foam on the beer ….. the list of his transgressions is endless' A true enigma to average Kenyan tribal mind our goals are best achieved indirectly

@kiterunner, Sarah Elderkin confesses to being a Raila supporter. She does not seem impartial on any discussion on Tinga. Would you trust Njugunajohn to analyse UK?

It's not the presidential candidate who's going to be elected as the next Chief Executive in kenya that worries me, it's the people who are going to give that candidate the ticket to state house and how they are going to decide the next state house occupant that worries me.

I just thought it was funny but come to think of it, some people only see evil whenever RAO's names comes up, or they drag his name into anything negative around I dont care if a columnist is impartial or not but i dont agree with a whole media house taking a slanted position on issues, i d rather they give both sides a hearing our goals are best achieved indirectly

There are only three ways in which Kenyans vote: 1.WITH THE HEAD-The most superior way of doing it as there is all likelihood of putting great men in elective offices. 2.WITH THE HEART-A much riskier approach since you never really know the true colours of the politician toying with your emotions and you risk electing a Mobutu. 3.WITH THE STOMACH-The most dangerous way of employing elective office bearers as it doesn't really matter who gets into office.
