The demand /supply is ratio is worse in some other counters,i reckon KK will not give up more than 5%.If i were Segman i would pay the 400M and face the future.

If I'm Segman I'd do what earns me the most respect as a CEO. He should negotiate for something else in exchange.

BBI will solve it

Just a question: KK is claiming yield shift losses, fuel losses and business losses amounting to Kshs 4.98bn. Why arent other oil companies claiming the same and yet all import and process crude at KPRL? Does KPRL process KK crude differently from the way it processes for other oil companies?

People GET SERIOUS...!!!!

@Winston, @cnn et al...

KK is fighting the corrupt folks at MoE & KPC who brought you Triton!

In any struggle, you have the sheep [See Kenya's political battle akina MOST politicians who were lining up to kiss moi's arse] & a very few who fought the system...

KPRL is very inefficient...
KPC has reneged on ullage utilization [it favors briefcase importers]...
MoE favors NOCK...
Kenya is a 3rd World country where justice is slower than a snail...

BUT... you have to fight these to see a better future...

Kenol Kobil also has had to pay demurrage for delays in berthing tankers - http://www.nation.co.ke/...06/959190/-/4v0cdoz/-/.

It's a tough period for KK. Management should now position themselves to take advantage of Uganda's Oil or to buy oil prospecting rights in Uganda or Mozambique. Otherwise we are stuck with an inefficient KPRL and corrupt officials.

@vvs,but at what cost to the business and to you as a shareholder?.If the other big players resisted the same way KK are doing,i would have no problem. As it is now they would rather sit back and take up whatever business goes their way in case of a KK fallout with KPRL or MoE.With such inefficiencies its no wonder Shell are on their way out.

@mv @cnn - You do realize that bowing to the corrupt officials at MoE is what got Engen & Total into trouble coz they had to buy from Triton.
Triton 'sold' Engen & Total fuel that was not there. Now they are out the money...

KK had REFUSED to buy from Triton. In fact, KK blew the whistle on Triton. Since then they have made enemies at MoE. The PS & minister remain. Some heads at KPC rolled but NO-ONE has been convicted!

In the short-term, I agree but now the 'misdeeds' are going public. KK should now expand its Tanzania business & facilities to move fuel through Tanga & Dar.
