Good key explained it well @8money.
Its (-) 5.1 B against (+) 1.7 B = - 3.4 B by considering one off retirement costs for Nbk and coop...the (-) comes to less than a B. Factoring in the early time he,@Obiero gave the estimate and much actions that could have occured...i give him a clean grade A 80%.

KQ had a 12.5bn Loss Before Tax for 1H 2014-15.
Where did the turnaround 'profit' of 6bn in 2H come from?

Kenya Airways has reported an after-tax loss of Sh10.5 billion for the half year to September 30 — Sh12.5 billion - before an income tax credit

@Obiero, I will give a B+. Kudos on banks results forecasts.

When can we expect Qtr1 2015 numbers?
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

Times are hard, figures have to be cooked. Next year I'm expecting a good profit, cooked or otherwise.

@boris @gatheuzi applause received.. :) qtr 1 results shall be served in good time, there is trouble in most banks whereby deposits are thinning out.. no Greece-like bank runs expected for the majors, but smaller banks may fold up starting with ECB, GTB

ECB has Mwalimu SACCO to back it up. And the deposits may leave Coop for ECB.
GTB has the backing of much larger GTB Nigeria but will they continue taking the losses or close up shop?

I would pick Middle East Bank and Dubai Bank as being in trouble.

I doubt the below. Capital for sure but not liquidity. It is not borne out by the rates being offered for deposits which if anything are falling
