We might just get a dictator president and our "Credible Institutions" are unable to handle him. We are either getting one in 10years or back to clashes.

Lasting peace has got to start from somewhere. For me this fake peace and unity is a good starting point as it brings us it enables us to talk to one another.Then in that fake peace we can deliberate on ways for lasting peace. I speak as a kikuyu settled in Rift Valley and a victim of PEV. i've seen this back in my village with Wazees.. fake sense of nomalcy.. after a year, another thief springs up stealing the village water pump.. generator, cows etc cause he knows 'peace' due to family ties has to prevail...

How many of them had their property destroyed? how many of them had relatives living with them because they were displaced? how many of them spent sleepless nights outside because attacks were imminent? how many of them have seen people with arrows in their backs after fleeing from clashes? Well... this has happened to us Kyuks of the Rift valley since 1992! 'fake' unity? get off your high horse this unity benefits us not you! its not designed for you! All Mushrooms are edible! We are so mixed up in places like Kuresoi, Molo, Likia, Mauche Njoro, Ngata, Kabarak, Rongai e.t.c. that it becomes to our benefit to actually seek an alliance with them. We have suffered in times past as our idealists from Central province pick up wars on our behalf. There was a move to break our union with Central province and explore a political union with our neighbours in rift valley. Believe me when I say this- this union between Uhuru and Ruto is very practical and useful for us kikuyus of 'ruguru'. the rest can meza wembe! @Masukuma, the alliance is built on quicksand, given that the vote is mainly determined by "central" okuyus the difference in the voting pattern will not alter any violence targeting the "ruguru" okuyus. In a worst case scenario they'd still be burnt in churches. What peace??
