These guys have done a good job on their advertising. But their admission of a dip in profits next time round is definitely a dampener

'Wanjiku' included your Grand mother back at the reserve.Ocha. be kind to her !!!

Why would you say that? Are you more human or Kenyan than them or the currency you use is signed by Mr Gates? This must be the worst comments I've read in this forum. By the way those poor people you despise so much are the ones God loves the most.

I think they should give everyone a chance to invest. They should only limit when the IPO is likely to be oversubscribed but according to indicators such as the current food prices and general economic situation and the Safaricom IPO experience,I don't think that even half of the number of shares on offer will be bought!

I am quite surprised by the level of pessimism about the British American IPO in this forum. I have looked at fundamentals. The company is in a growing industry(financial sector, that grew by 10% and is the largest contributor of economic growth, its balance sheet is very good and getting better, subsidiaries like British American Asset Managers are market leaders(17 billion in assets) and the opportunity in insurance is just strting to be exploited and thus there is room for growth. and they have appointed a new guy at Asset managers division. check http://britishamericanbl...billion-of-your-assets/

At Ksh9, this is the cheapest share in the sector and if precedence is anything to go by, can only go higher!

So, whats the beef with the offer?

I am sure you mean the lowest priced (in shilling terms). That is quite distinct from being cheap.
