Got a chance today to read the Sunday Standard (Dec. 30, '12) pull out on Prezz Kibaki, "BUILDING A WORKING & CARING NATION & THE TRANSFORMATION OF KENYA". It was great to learn about him (at 30 years, 1963) as a avid decolonisation of Africa advocate, fronting how to finance land redistribution & Sessional paper no. 10 on African Socialism (Ubuntu ~ I am because we are) and some cool qoutes like, "We should not try to decieve our people that socialism will bring things from Heaven easily. Every single person in this country must be prepared to sacrifice. I mean sacrifice in the sense that we must be prepared to WORK HARD and to SAVE and INVEST. If we are not prepared to do it voluntarily, this paper has declared that this is entitled to enforce people to work, to enforce savings, to enforce people & even MPs to pull their weight." It instantly brought forward the ZANU-PF ideology & mantra, "The Land is the Economy, the Economy is the Land." I couldn't help feel that in those times Nationalism & Pan-Africanism existed, thrived & things worked socio-economically before we got lost a long the way

Nevertheless, I also feel we're back into History now (Dejavu) and we have another shot at getting it right again, both Nationally & SSA wide. In Kenya it starts/continues with a peaceful transition post-March 4th, implementing the Const. & whipping Vision 2030 into reality with reckless abandon! Pamberi!! (forward) na Kazi Iendelee!!
