The cookie actually crumbled much earlier this season only that other teams were struggling (except chelsea) Key players got injured so early and most will be back in January. Arsenal have relatively easy fixtures in the holiday period and will be much stronger in the run in. Fourth place trophy assured! Great to see Man Utd back to winning ways. Now if we can sail through to January unscathed then we will start talk of title. Defence still wanting. Next are Villa ........ Newcastle ........Spurs .......... Stoke!!!! Formal education will make you a living. Self-education will make you a fortune - Jim Rohn.

From an interesting article about Arsenal Liverpool yesterday: Quote:* 'In The Bleak Midwinter' was the song blaring out of the tannoy an hour or so before kick-off at Anfield, and now it truly should be the winter of discontent for both Liverpool and Arsenal. This was an afternoon on which neither side were winners; the lost art of defending was the biggest loser. At times it was akin to watching two portly, drunk gentlemen fighting outside a pub on a cold night. Both sides lurched forward, swinging from the hip, but were left constantly prone to the risk of either being knocked out by their opponent or slipping on the ice and kneeing themselves in the face. It was equally amusing and enthralling to watch. However, these are two clubs that had title aspirations at the start of the season, managed by two men who consider themselves to be tactically astute. That neither has added any element of obvious steel or resilience to their respective teams is a great shame for supporters, but rollicking fun for the rest of us.

For us it was 2 points dropped...very disappointing result considering the possession and playing against 10 men for around 20 minutes. But I also blame LvG for subbing Valencia for Wilson and taking Young to Valencia's wing...very ill informed sub. Evans and Fletcher should never see any more game time in a Utd shirt... Goon squad played almost as badly as Utd did against Southampton and still got a point... BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

LVG fell tactically short on Sato and showed Villa too much respect! Lets hope @Kularaha boys forgets their scoring boots at London tonight

Massive 3 points on a ground where we came unstuck last season. The imperious Matic bestrode that pitch like a colossus.
Credit to the artisans of Stoke who gave our artists a not so easy ride.

I look forward to the day when we'll have a regular back 4 of Rafael, Smalling/Jones, Rojo and Shaw...that is when we shall see the real Man Utd. For now, we'll have to contend with poor performances especially at the back and still winning. LvG finally seems to be restoring the winning mentality that Moyes had completely washed down the drain. 6 in 6...Utd go about their biz quietly...but efficiently. If revenge is a dish best served cold, yesterday's was served frozen. I agree @smano, the winning mentality is what is crucial. It's always in the mind. Liverpool had better chances but it's like they didn't believe they could win. Then anytime they were about to score, you could bet on De Gea saving the shot. That guy should be given a long, better contract. He'll become a legend in a short period of time. I think Man Utd should brace themselves for a formal bid from Real Madrid, he'll soon be their number one target. IMO he'll return to Spain at some point and it will be to either Real or Barca.... Without De Gea Man U becomes useless! @Angelica....We have heard that so many times its sickening ( and laughable at the same damned time) without Van Nisteroy... withoout Becham Without Roy Keane Without Christiano... We are still a GREAT TEAM. Emphasis is TEAM. Patience. You cannot have a baby in one month by impregnating nine women....

Congratulations to Arsenal. Winning with 10 men, great. In the business world, everyone is paid in two coins - cash and experience. Take the experience first; the cash will come later - H Geneen
