How is a adoption of bad business plan not a management failure and poor governance?

Who takes the fall when KQ adopts a bad business plan. In my mind the senior management and board need to take the fall for such a blunder.

Indeed, that guy is not speaking on behalf of ICPAK members, he should be asked to retract those statements.

What is ailing KQ is mismanagement and corruption coupled with political interference common with former state owned enterprises.

In order for an airline to prosper, high standard of service and controls must be there.

So what post should @Awori retain?

Board member.. This can be done without need for an extraordinary meeting

Of what immense value is he to the KQ board?

Former ambassador, key to bilateral air agreement formations. Also seats on Toyota Kenya hence sub lease negotiation for ground service

He has nothing to offer KQ as a former ambassador. BASAs are government to government. Since he was elected as the board chair, which route has he negotiated for? He is just a sycophant of political class currently siphoning billions out of KQ to tax havens through SPVs. The truth be told.

If he was a serious board chair with a commercial acumen, all those mentioned in the forensic audit preliminary reports should be immediately suspended including Ngunze. His appointment to the boards that he sits on was based on his government connections hence access to key govt. contracts by the likes of Toyota.

Angola, Vietnam, Cape Town already done.. Chengdu, Chenai, Perth coming soon

No serious expansion by KQ to be done any time soon. The delay in putting in place the right people is even messing up the future of the Airline.

Ngunze auctioned the planes in the name of turnaround. No plane should have left the fleet, there is enough demand and only the root cause of low uptake of passengers by KQ should have been addressed e.g. pricing including ticketing malpractices by staff and travel agents as identified in the forensic report, poor customer service, etc.

Angola was done long before he joined the board.

Which means all these actions of selling landing slot at Heathrow airport, Embakasi prime land, selling planes and leasing pilots were motivated by malice or poor business strategy aka priority.

Exactly, all those decisions were made without the necessary due care, diligence and interest of the Company.

The level of deliberations on key business decisions among the top management of KQ is totally absurd to say the least. Look at the Mckinsey contract executed by Alex and Ngunze for instance, if they did not receive kickbacks then what can you call it? Total incompetence.

If that is the case and of course it is, this airline is left exposed to sinking deeper and deeper into perennial debts and losses.

@jibabe @maka this guy keeps bashing KQ with no facts.. Even with the strike threat, the share remains at KES 4.30.. The turnaround is finally here

What about next financial year when there will be no assets to sell? It is not yet turnaround!
