On a serious note though, the closest most MPs can get to the institutions the man has worked for is watching them on TV.

In fact, a far more logical argument could be made that married folks and those with kids are more likely to be irresponsibly corrupt due to their efforts to keep up with the Joneses. Ndio wenye wameleta shida zote ziko Kenya leo.

Botswana, probably the best run country in all of Africa, has a bachelor as president.

Sadly, I see this kind of marital status idiocy coming up whenever anything small happens involving the CBK. If Kenya Shilling touches 100, expect to see even the guy's lack of kitambi heavily interrogated.

Anyway, as Tanzanians would say, tufanye nini na miafrika ndivyo ilivyo.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

at 54 and he has no property in Kenya. I am all for professionalism and merit but I also think it is good for someone in such a high position to have at least some skin in the game. Even Githongo eventually got married. Is he Opus Dei?

All his money is invested huko wall street ...stocks, bonds, reits, gold etc.

Does that mean the guy has no faith in our very own NSE?

I think we are confusing vetting with interviewing - are mpigs supposed to technically interview the nominees.
I thought their role is to dig up any dirt a nominee has, we wre becoming more liberal kuliko even our liberalism teachers huko majuu - I mean a guy would not even dare run for the most powerful position in the world if he did not have a family.

Managing a successful family is a plus in our perception of a successful man and so we believe he can manage our main bank tòo. Just like the opinion about single mothers ranks lower than the married ones.

Anyhow lets see how he drives CBK but sijaskia poa about hio story.

Does he have a kid/s somewhere?

Even Botswana's president Ian Khama is single and his country is doing very well.
