Where did the claim that some people are thieves, others are lazy, others are proud come from? I believe tribalism if embraced positively is a good thing. It unites communities.

Fighting tribalism should really be easy......no people should be made to feel like they are under sieke.....SIMPLE!!!!

d'oh! So how do you make people to feel they are not under sieke while every tribe feels its under sieke?

Why does very tribe feel that they are under sieke???......we see the grand standing everywhere buana, best illustrated here in wazua!!!!

Remember 40 vs 1?

Thought it was 41 Vs 1.....was it factual or it was created for the cinsumption of the common mwananchi!!!.......you don't make people feel like outsiders and then send a pokomo to Migingo and think that you are solving the problem....cheap publicity stunt I say!!!

Real or Imagined the people believed it! The opposition by their mannerism and words, enforced it.

If the people believed it then wale waliopigia Kifake outside central walitoka wapi!!!

Okuyu in diaspora,Embu,Meru na Akamba-GEMA.

Now that you count Meru, Embu, Akamba....who are the 41?

Embu,Meru and Akamba dislike the Okuyu and therefore its the rest versus Okuyo.

Our politicians will never allow the communities to come together because its a threat to their careers when kenyans demand issue based politics.

Most of the tribal misconceptions are ingrained in peoples minds at very early age due to socialization. Most young daughter often tells me 'wacha kujifanya maasai" which she may have picked from school. For adults to change, they just need to make deliberate efforts at a personal level and i doubt the state is the best way to address the issue. I personally do not refer to people by their tribe-Mkamba,Okuyu, Jaluo-etc.

Oh I get it, send an intern to a county where 98 percent come from a community that isn't his/hers, they majorly communicate in their mother tongue...then after 6 months he/she comes out feeling very Kenyan.....
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

My theory is that how you were raised and who raised you matters.

Most of the biggest tribalists in Kenya are first generation immigrants from gishagi to any city.

It's not their fault.

In the evening when they open the vernacular radio station all they hear is Uhuru is bad, Raira is bad, Ruto is bad et al.

The parents and neighbours have never seen a mujaruo in their lives other than Baba on KBC. They think all mujaruos look like baba. The same goes for the kalenjin warrior who has a political meeting where Keter shoots fire on their tribe being finished by Uhunye.

It's not their fault.

After living in your gishagi where the sharpest man was the village idiot and you come to the siiteh. You are too old to change your ways.

Blame all this to wiseman Moi who came up with quota system.

In our days, we got to see jaruos, kales et al in high school. Time enough to change your attitudes.

Now, these dot coms see mswahilis and Digos for their first time when in their 20's. That man-child is so stuck in his ways, he will be on Wazua talking about "others".

Ni mjinga tu na masomo haikumsaidia.

Do the above experiment in your office today. Ask guys when they came to the city and you will see I have a working theoretical model.

@Alma....You have raised some valid points, i'm of the opinion that as Kenyans we need to accept the FACT that Uhuru, Raila, Ruto, Kalonzo and others are all tribal chiefs, none of them is a nationalist....tuache kujidanyanya!
